WARRANTY STATEMENT

YOUR W ARRANTY RIGHTS AND OBLIGA-

TIONS:

The U.S. Environmental Protection

Agency/California Air Resources Board and

POULAN/WEED EATER, DIVISION OF WCI

OUTDOOR PRODUCTS, INC., are pleased to

explain the emissions control system warr anty

on your year 2000--2003 small of f--road engine.

In California, all new small off--road engines

must be designed, built, and equipped to meet

the State’s stringent anti--smog standards.

POULAN/WEED EATER must warrant the

emission control system on your small off--road

engine for the periods of time listed below pr o-

vided there has been no abuse, neglect, or im-

proper maintenance of your small off--road en-

gine engine. Your emission control system in-

cludes parts such as the carburetor and the igni-

tion system. Wher e a warr antable condition ex-

ists, POULAN /WEED EATER w ill r epair your

small of f--road engine engine at no cost to you.

Expenses covered under warr anty include

diagnosis, par ts and labor.

MANUFACTUR-

ER’S W ARRANTY COVERAGE:

If any emis-

sions related part on your engine ( as listed un-

der Emissions Control Warr anty Parts List) is

defective or a defect in the materials or work-

manship of the engine causes the failure of such

an emission related part, the part will be repaired

or replaced by PO U LAN/WEED EATER.

OWNER’S W ARRANTY RESPO NSIBILI-

TIES:

As the small off--road engine engine own-

er, you are responsible for the performance of

the requir ed maintenance listed in your instruc-

tion manual. POULAN/WEED EA TER recom-

mends that you retain all receipts covering

maintenance on your small off--road engine, but

POULAN /WEED EATER cannot deny warr an-

ty sole ly for the lac k of rece ip ts or for yo ur failure

to ensure the performance of all scheduled

maintenance. As the small off--road engine en-

gine owner, you should be awar e that POU LAN/

WEED EA TER may deny you war r anty cover-

age if your small off--road engine engine or a

part of it has failed due to abuse, neglect, im-

proper maintenance, unapproved modifications,

or the use of parts not made or approved by the

original equipment manufacturer. You ar e re-

sponsible for presenting your small off--road en-

gine to a POU LAN/WEED EA TER authorized

repair center as soon as a problem exists. War-

ranty repairs should be completed in a reason-

able amount of time, not to exceed 30 days. If

you have any questions regarding your warr an-

ty rights and responsibilities, you should contact

your nearest authorized service center or call

W ARRANTY COMMENCEMENT DA TE:

The

war ranty period begins on the date the small

off--road engine is purchased.

LENG TH OF

COVERAGE:

This w ar r anty shall be for a peri-

od of two years from the initial date of purchase.

WH AT IS CO VERED: R EPAIR OR RE-

PLACEMENT OF PARTS.

Repair or replace-

ment of any w ar ranted part w ill be performed at

no charge to the owner at an approved POU-

LAN/WEED EATER servicing center . If you

have any questions regar ding your warranty

rights and r esponsibilities, you should contact

your nearest authorized service center or call

W ARRANTY PERIOD:

Any w ar r anted part

which is not scheduled for replacement as re-

quired maintenance, or which is scheduled only

for regular inspection to the effect of “repair or

replace as necessary” shall be warranted for 2

years. Any warr anted part which is scheduled

for replacement as required maintenance shall

be war ranted for the period of time up to the first

scheduled replacement point for that part.

DIAGNOSIS:

The owner shall not be charged

for diagnostic labor which leads to the deter-

mination that a war r anted part is defective if the

diagnostic work is performed at an approved

POULAN/WEED EATER servicing center.

CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES:

POULAN/

WEED EA TER may be liable for damages to

other engine components caused by the failure

of a warranted par t still under warr anty.

WHAT

IS NOT CO VERED

: All failures caused by

abuse, neglect, or improper maintenance are

not covered.

ADD--ON OR MODIFIED

P ARTS:

The use of add--on or modified parts

can be grounds for disallowing a warr anty claim.

POULAN /WEED EATER is not liable to cover

failures of warranted parts caused by the use of

add--on or modified parts.

CLAIM:

If you have any questions regarding

your warr anty rights and responsibilities, you

should contact your nearest authorized service

cente r or ca ll POULAN/WEED EATER at

pairs shall be provided at all POULAN/WEED

EA TER service centers. call: 1--800--554--6723

MAINTENANCE, REPLACEMENT AND RE-

PAIR O F EMISSION RELATED PARTS

:Any

POULAN/WEED EA TER approved replace-

ment part used in the performance of any war-

ranty maintenance or repair on emission related

parts will be provided without charge to the own-

er if the part is under warranty.

EMISSIO N

CONTROL W ARRANTY PARTS LIST:

Car-

buretor, Ignition System: Spark Plug (covered

up to maintenance schedule), Ignition Module,

Muffler including catalyst.

MAINTENANCE

STATEMENT:

The owner is responsible for the

performance of all required maintenance as de-

fined in the instruction manual.

This engine is certified to be emissions compliant for the following use:

Moderate (50 hours)

Intermediate (125 hours)

Extended (300 hours)
